The route

The Lithuanian coast has a nice cycle path through forests and sea-side fields. But it’s quite packed with tourists who are on the move with all imaginable wheeling thinds. It makes a kilometerfresser like me a bit annoyed as I don’t really enjoy the relaxed stroll along the beach. I tried to behave, though.

I had a lunch at last village on the Lithualian side, otherwise I would have missed the zepelinas.

Then just few kilometers to reach Latvia again. Last year, there was huge road construction ongoing, so now there was good asphalt. Along with the tail wind, that was the only joy. The road is really boring again. Bushy forest, straight on, no hills, no places to stop, except for bus stops with just a bench.

But I was travelling rather fast, to reach Liepaja as early as possible. Namely, I had a plan for the evening. I happen to know there’s a public sauna in Liepaja. I had booked a cheap room for 15€ near to it. I really missed a good bath. And that’s what I got after the hardships of the day. I enjoyed so much of the hot steam, relaxed feeling.
