I had not slep too well, there was some noise. I woke up at the usual hours, before eight, but felt a bit tired.
The start of the road was smooth, freshly made cycle lane through the forest. I felt a bit lazy, though, already in the morning. The road soon turned to the forest path, which turned out to be a bit too soft for my heavily loaded bike. I was trying to navigate around the softest parts but at some places I just had to push my bike. It was hard. The grey morning turned to a hot sunny day and I was sweating a lot. The route followed the Biebrza river again, and there were a lots of groups canoeing. At many places, there were agroturystikas with canoe rentals and trips to the river.
I felt fatique again and at some point I found it hard to find energy climbing the hills. But I was getting close to Wigry, my first overnight stay in Poland. Then it started to rain. I reached the Wigry MOR for a shelter, the very first MOR I saw. It was already time when it’s okey to look for a campsite. So, I thought if I should try some other camping in Wigry. I had stayed at U Haliny, but it wasn’t really ideal for another stay. One reason being that the campsite is not flat, it’s on a hill, which is kind of difficult when trying to find a place for the tent. Anyway, I rode to the monastery, but none of the places felt appealing. I decided to continue to the western shore of the lake, as there’s campsite to be found there, too.
I ended up to a local marine club campsite. The other one, which had nice website, was next to some event with a lots of people and noise. My campsite was at the beach and there were people swimming and sunbathing. When I arrived, there were only two other tents. I set up mine, had a shower and opened a beer. I thought I should celebrate the last night in Poland by eating out, not just cooking something myself. I went to a restaurant nearby, and it turned out to be a very good choice. Not only the food was excellent, but there was a heavy rain, which conveniently passed as I was enjoying beetroot soup, some huge meat-stuffed potato-thingy, a beer and ice cream. All this for 29 zl.
I was happy, even though my laundry was all wet. It was nice evening sun. More tents had appeared and suddenly the campsite was quite full.
