The morning was cloudy, but I got my tent dry. I didn’t have a hurry, as today’s distance was merely about 50 km to the next camping I had spotted via Lithuanian Campsite association’s site. It took some time again to get out of the city, but as the Saturday morning traffic was’t bad, it was actually quite easy. The only challenge was the rear derailleur, which I didn’t manage to adjust correcly either. On the way, I kept turning the barrel adjuster tighter every 100 m and finally it worked ok.
The road via Baltoji Voke was mostly through forest. The sun came out, there was almost no wind, the asphalt was smooth. I have never been so happy being on the road, pedalling steadily, breathing, withouth hurry and just pure pleasure. There were a lots of cars parked on the rest areas as well as the side roads, I quess people are picking berries and mushrooms. I had my blueberry-picking pause, too.
I was quite early in Vaikininkai. I went to the shop first to buy sausages, kefir, some other milk product with linseeds and berries and cheese. I had mailed the campsite, so they knew I was coming. There was a lady waiting on the terrace of a house next to the campsite. Some Russian-language excercise again, as she didn’t speak English, but I’m getting used to it again. I heard the Bonacamping was opened just recently. It is quite small, but cozy and comfortable. As I’m writing this post, there are no other clients, so the all place is mine.
