The great Summer tour 2016 started 6th of July. I took a ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn. From Tallinn, I made a shortcut on a train to Tartu. I wanted to visit a friend at her house 20km from the Tartu, and in order to fit the schedules, I didn’t have time to cycle all the way. Bringing the bike in Estonian railways is very easy: no more deep stairs of the sovier-era trains, just walk your bike in to the modern train. No extra fee for the bike.

In Tartu, I spent some time to fix practical things: bought myself a new iPad keyboard for 25€ to replace the one took some rain last summer tour. Then I bought some food to bring and looked for a toothbrush and toothpaste. Finally, I was ready for the 20 cycling to my destination.

On the road, I was memorising my first bicyle tour 2006 around the Lake Peipus. We stayed in Tartu, and I’m sure I was riding along the same road as ten years back. So many years passed, but no summer without a bicycle tour!

We had lovely evening at the Ättemoisa, meeting my friend, her aunt and doughter and doughter’s friend. The house is old, in need of some more renovation, but the feeling of history and past generations is strong. And the sauna was awesome, Baltic style stove and good steam.
